Aerosmith is a hard rock band where Steve Tyler is the singer. They had and still have a worldwide success, but in the 1980s they decided to release a “Greatest hits” album. This album sold millions of copies in the United States of America. But the band best selling album in the 1980s was “Permanent Vacation”. It was their 9th album and the songs were created by professional songwriters. It was released in 1987 and had many songs with a great success to the audience, like “Dude (Looks like a lady)” or “Angel”. The song “I’m down” was composed by John Lennon. In the 1980 Aerosmith had five concert tours.
The 1980s were they years when heavy metal began to have real success. Guns N’ Roses (or GNR) are an American band that started to perform in 1985. Only in the United States of America they sold almost 50 millions of albums. Their first album, “Appetite for destruction” conquered the number one position on the Billboard 200. Some of the most famous songs from this album were “Welcome to the jungle” and “Paradise City”. This album is special because the singer, Axl Rose wrote one of the songs,” Sweet Child O’ Mine” for his wife. Many songs from this album reached to the public at television, on MTV and also on radio. “Appetite for destruction” had also a big tour all around the United States of America. Another album released in the 1980s was “G’N R lies” that had eight songs on it. The second album had also a great success, and it had a strange cover for their album, that resembled as a collage of newspaper tabloids.
U2 is one of the famous and also oldest bands, which still have great albums loved by the fans. It is importing to notice that since their debut, the U2 band has the same components: Bono (the singer), Adam Clayton, The Edge and Larry Mullen Jr. In some of the songs The Edge is also singing. Their debut album was called “Boy” and the single “11 O’Clock Tick Tock” received many good reviews. Fans all over the worls enjoyed the songs because it were written by Bono itself and the lyrics were about adolescence. The band also started to sing live, so many people realized that Bono was indeed very talented and a true showman, as he is today too.
